California Dreaming...

Hey all,

Just the other day, I came home from a vacation I took with my family in the beautiful hills in California, and believe me that I don't mean this in a bad way, it didn't feel like a vacation, it felt more like home. It WAS a wonderful vacation, staying at the beautiful Sunset Tower Hotel, experiencing all California beach towns have to offer, a quick trip to Disneyland (Yes, for all who don't know, I am a Disney geek to the core), the Turner Classic Movie festival, and running into some people I never thought I would in my life--Alexander Skarsgard...made my day, let me tell you that right now! Ha! But in all seriousness, I am a family oriented person, and this trip was a great time spent with my entire family, and I was sad to have to get on the plane to get back home.

Okay, not saying that I don't love my home in Chicago, because I do, I just have always had this dream of California. My father has always told me he had a dream of going west to California one day and even had a dream (like a literal dream one night) that John Wayne told him he needed to move there...well, he didn't end up moving there, he stayed in Chicago, but that doesn't mean that one day soon we will all truck out there and live in beautiful Califor-ni-a ha. I would love that! But, while we were out there I kept imagining how happy I would feel if I did make it out there soon and kept dreaming big...and far...like I always had.

I intend to do so. With all of my music hitting its peak and approaching (hopefully) the big time, I pray that these dreams come true. I can envision myself looking out onto the hills, watching the sunset, and writing a couple tunes about how I feel in that moment. I would love to sit against a window and just envision a story and form a melody to share with all of you. That's a beautiful dream to me, and it's something I thought about every moment I was there.

I believe in my dreams, and I advise each and every one of you to do the same. Sometimes dreams seem too far out of reach and sometimes people may tell you it's not fathomable. But, I want to tell you that's not true. Walt Disney (one of my role model's) always said, "If you can dream it, you can do it." And I live my life by that motto.

I dream for things that make me happy. When I sing I create this joy inside of my heart and soul that cannot be duplicated by anything else, on a good day it expresses my emotions and on a hard one, it lifts me up and is like a remedy that eases the pain making me feel strong again. These dreams to share this joy with you require people who care to listen and connect or relate in the process, and I can't believe that in such a short amount of time I have friends and fans who want to connect and join me on this journey. So I thank you for that, and helping me make my dreams come true.

So with that said, I just wanted to share that dreaming isn't too hard to do, and believing is a treasure that will brighten your day. No matter what, never give up. Never stop believing. Know that if you try and you truly believe you can do it, you can do and be anything you want.

Today, as I look back on my trip, I believe that it's not too far out of reach to live in California one day, sitting against a window, mirrored by a sunset, and sharing a story that could potentially be a soundtrack in your life. It really doesn't seem that crazy to believe I can do that. So, it's on my list of things to do, and without sounding silly or self obsessed (which I hope I haven't come across in this) I encourage everyone to take a minute today and write or think about a dream you have. If you have it, hold onto it, and believe it can come true. Because it can. So keep believing and maybe I'll see you in the hills one day hehe if mine come true as well.

As always, thank you for listening to the music and sharing it with your friends and family. If you haven'y done so already, check out my EP on itunes "Skye's the Limit" and take a listen and spread the word if you have enjoyed it! I know I would love love love to hear your thoughts about the songs and Skye music in general. So, always know I am so excited to hear from all of you.

Thank you for listening and keep on dreaming :)

All my love,
Caroline Skye <3
